Privacy notice (for visitors and users of Gathersight)
In short
If you visit gathersight.com we set no tracking cookies and use no third-party analytics. If you sign up, we hold your name, your work email address, the business you work for, the territory and edition you chose, your plan, the notes, watches and saved views you create, and a record of when you signed in and what you opened. We use this to run the service and to send you the emails you asked for. We bill through Stripe and we never see your card number. You can ask for your account and its data to be deleted at any time.
Who we are — as the Data notice.
What we collect about you
Account: name, work email, business name and domain, plan, territory, edition, settings, the time of each sign-in. Content you create: notes, watches, saved views, join and upgrade requests. Usage: pages and signal panels opened, locked rows seen and clicked, upgrade prompts seen, digest emails opened (a tracking pixel in our own emails), exports made and how many rows. Billing: handled by Stripe; we hold your Stripe customer reference, your invoices and the last four digits of the card. Support: the emails you send us.
Why, and the lawful basis
To provide the service and bill for it (contract); to send the Monday digest, act-today alerts and sign-in links (contract); to tell you about your plan and about Gathersight (legitimate interests, with an opt-out in every email that is not a sign-in link or a receipt); to improve the product by seeing how it is used (legitimate interests); to keep accounts and comply with tax law (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
Service providers who process it for us under contract: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Railway (background jobs), Resend (email), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (writing the one-line summaries; no personal data about you is sent to it beyond what is in a business record). Where a provider processes data outside the UK we rely on the UK's adequacy regulations or standard contractual safeguards. We publish the current list at [gathersight.com/legal/sub-processors]. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers.
Colleagues at your business
If someone at your business is the billing owner, they can see the names, plans and last-active dates of the seats on the business's bill, and approve or remove them. If you start free and your business already uses Gathersight, we tell the billing owner once that you have joined.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open and for twelve months afterwards, then we delete it. Invoices are kept for six years as the law requires. Notes and watches that belong to a business stay with the business when a seat leaves.
